Jiggs is safely seconded back in ComSubPac  so things are pretty much back to normal , if ‘normal’ is ever a word one can use regarding NIMR and  Seaview. What is unusual is that  Bill Corbett has actually been elected to Congress. Folks seem to have conveniently forgotten that the former Lt. Cmdr.  in the Navy was dishonorably discharged for disobeying orders aboard Seaview  during that fail safe debacle we  had awhile back. At the time, some civilian circles even called Corbett a hero. It remains to be seen if he’ll have further changes of conscious while in office.

 What Lee thinks about the new Congressman  is anyone’s guess. The problem with Lee is that he’s honorable to the core but  believes in second chances. Even went to bat for Corbett prior to his altering the missile firing range to ‘show the world’ what nearly happened. Now, however, like me,  well…I think Lee simply wants to forget the whole thing and prays we’ll never have a fail-safe situation again. But we both know that if we do, at least we two, Morton as well, will  do our duty.
