COMSUBPAC

FROM THE DESK OF

ADM. J. STARKE

Jim, just what are you after? How the devil should I know why Crane was medically unfit for duty just when you wanted him to play James Bond? Ask Lt . Cmdr. Jamison, the Seaview’s CMO, for Pete’s sake. If anyone knows, he will. At least I think so. Maybe the boy’s begun to have a little sense about self-preservation. I should know. Jackson returns from a stint with you guys the worse for wear. Harriman’s always complaining about Crane being returned to him in such bad shape that he’s threatened to put him in the brig to keep him from gallivanting off on assignment.

So, what’s this all about?
